Hi all my oil analysis came back, coolant did a number on the motor, it looks like I need new bearings so I need to pull the motor. Wondering if
anybody in the Western New York area has an engine gantry that I could borrow along with the I beam trolly as my coach is a 26-footer. Worth a shot to
ask...I guess.

Take it out the bottom. I also know someone that to reduce bulk out the top. Took the intake, and heads off in place. Bob Dunahugh

The GMC Mountaires have a lift with the sliding rail that rolls the engine back toward the doorway.

When we did my 455 engine recently we used that. Previous two engines were taken out the bottom.

It was much easier because the final drive and axles didn't have to be removed.

All we had to remove from the engine were the headers and the fan clutch.
I think exhaust manifolds would clear the box.

The front of the engine had to be tilted down a bit to pull it out and to replace it. The heads and intake stayed on the engine.

Much easier than taking it out the bottom.

Consider removing the front seats. Greatly increases the working room and prevents damage to the seats. Only a bunch of bolts.

Hi all. Haven't been to the 'net in a while.

I built an interior, complete with winch and trolley last year. Worked well. Had a minor issue where we put a crack in the front headliner during the removal process, but knowing the issue that could be avoided in future work.

I copied the basic design from pics from the photo site, I think.

It's free for borrowing if you can transport it.
