I think there is a market for a well made screen. I have an idea but until I
get it working There is no sense in advertising it yet. I know it will work,
it is just a little way down the list yet. It is coming and you will like it.
I think. Darren

Darren,
Tell us your idea. If it is worth the wait, I'll wait. I am not going to
buy two screen doors right in a row, so I need to know before I buy.

There is a product out called 'Phantom Roller Screens' which, I am sure will
work. There is a modification which has to be done and some trim which must be
added. I am not sure it will work on a coach with the dinette on the right
side. I am not sure what the clearances are between the back of the seat and
the edge of the door. I have to check on the track system and room available.
Is it possible that someone could tell me how thick the space is in the false
wall where the vacuum attachments go, and how much room there is between the
back of the dinette seat and the edge of the door? I am trying to make it work.
I know it will work on mine because I am working around the screen, and not the
other way around.
The screen rolls up out of the way, basically disappears, and slides in and out
on a nice smooth track. It opens and closes as easily as opinin your fridge for
a beer. If it works with other configurations or as least adaptable then I
think it will be a winner. No rattles because when you don't need it, it isn't
there... Darren

This Phantom Roller Screen sounds interesting, is there a web site with
info or pictures?

Also on my Birchhaven (23') I have a cabinet and "refreshment center" just
one inch set back from the door opening. Will this cause a problem?

I don't know yet. I will be installing mine as soon as I have my couch
installed. I used to have the measurements somewhere but lost them. If any one
is thinking of installing a screen door and is interested I will keep you
posted. All the facts and figures are not in yet and if you are patient I will
let you know how it works out. Darren

Thanks Darren. I don't know about the rest of you, but I can't find any
other screen door solution, so I am not doing anything for a while (like it
or not). So keep me (us) posted.

We were at a rally a couple of weeks ago and there was
some discussion about the possibility that Buskirk-Rush
was buying the screen door business from Alex Birch.
Alex designed, built and even installed the curved
screen doors that most of us have. You might want to
check that out before doing anything else.
