Scott, I thought you might be interested in the progress. Since
last talking to you, I have talked to Jim Bounds and Alex Sirum.
Both were encouraging about my attempt to "patch" the frame.
Alex has done something similar, and he made it sound like a "no
brainer". Like you, he suggested adding a third section of metal
in the area. He says he has done this on some "stretches".

Neither Jim nor Alex had any specific idea about the type of
steel to use, but they didn't seem too concerned about it. I
will be talking to some local trailer fabricators this week to
see if they can shed some light on the different types of steel
that are readily available.

Best regards, Scott

Hi!

This post made me curious- has anyone ever contacted W O Smith or Parrish to
see about the possibility of having new frames reproduced? GMC has a pretty
simple one, might not be too costly- recently replaced an automobile one for
a relatively specialized application for ~$1600.

Just an idea, might be a totally unrealistic one, but hopefully food for
thought.

Scott Nehoda has done a fantastic job replacing his frame rails - and an
unbelievable. There shoudl be some posting in the archives on how he did
it, and more information on his web site. Maybe Scott can post a summary.
