This stands for Regular Production Option and is usually followed by a
number for each option. It is generally used for all GM products.

It's kind of embarrassing really because I grew
up in Pontiac, MI, my dad worked for PMD in
1954-57, and worked for Chevrolet dealerships
(not a "suit" -- a blue-collar guy) until he retired
about 13 years ago. I grew up around cars,
working on them, servicing them, studying the
manuals, and went on to write both parts
manuals and service manuals (although not for
GM), and have done that now for Fleetwood
(you know -- the big SOB manf. here in
California) for almost 21 years. You'd think I'd
have run across RPO or figured it out all by
myself, huh?

Oh well, who needs a memory-loss drug when
they have a maillist as sharp as this one to turn
to!
