And from the looks of the time that the new RV's spend in the shop getting
repaired, they are not more efficient or reliable than the older stuff.

I'm running the OEM on my 75 Avion. And it runs like a deer.

I have to agree. I "wasted" buying a new one, and moving my middle to the
rear, when it was just the breaker that needed replacement. =(

I have a newer A/C in the front and the oem one in the rear.

The oem one cools better, but is louder.

But the real difference is in power consumption. If you are always plugging into an RV 30 or 50 amp outlet. Or a short 15/20 amp cord. The
original ones are great.

But with my use, when I go visit people or park the coach where the only option is a 15 amp outlet. The OEM one is no good.

My new A/C pulls max 9 amps. They claim 11, but i could see anymore then 9
On the meter, even at start up. On low, only 7 amps. The oem one about 13-14
Amps. I seen 14+ on startup. Melted a
Few cord ends trying to keep my gmc less then 90 degrees inside a few times.
