Took a little run just after Christmas from Santa Fe to Tuscon.
Everything ran fine. I much prefer the secondary roads to the
Interstates. The road from Holbrook to Paige to Tuscon is beautiful.
Takes you through the White Mountains and down across the Salt River.
About a seven mile grade on the south side. I pulled the 88 Suzuki
Samuri also with no problems except that the tow bar and cables got very
dirty. I forgot to put on my gloves and got filthy before I knew it.

After reading a post about lockup in S, I used it more than I have in
the past. The engine seemed to run better and I had the sense that the
transmission was not working quite so hard. Stock gauges so no info
there. I also used the S range going down hills. I always believed
that brakes were cheaper than engines. However, I felt more comfortable
in the S range.

Now for comfort and convience. We have a mattress over the settee in
the back and load up the ramp with gear. That is until we need to use
the generator and I have to switch the breakers. Seems like I read a
post with a simple solution. Please advise.

Can't say enough good things about Cactus Country RV Resort in Tuscon.
Clean, they like kids and pets. Outdoor pool. $25 per night. They have
a local phone jack for lap tops. One guy told me that he uses Yahoo.
No charge, have to look at a couple of ads and they have 1200 local
phone numbers.

Drove home 500 miles in one day. Did experience a little ping or kocking
at the lower elevation. Any recomendations?

I-10 West leading into Tuscon had 10 RV's to the mile. Only saw one GMC
in Show Low.

I am already plotting and planning our next trip.
