I'm not saying it's the reason for your setup or that I subscribe to this
theory, but I recall Chuck Stoddard during his suspension tech session at
the Marion, NC GMCMI rally, saying that having equal weight distribution was
more important than ride height. Maybe the PO set it up that way trying to
equalize weight distribution.
Just a guess...
