I am new to this forum so if I make poopa's please forgive me. My
delema is I am in the process of buying a Revcon motorhome which has the
same engine and drive train as the GMC. I am trying to find out all I
can about what I should look for when I go to pick it. What should I
do, once there, to get it ready for the long trip home (santa ana,ca to
Miles City,MT) If possible I would like to stop off on the way at a
reputable shop that knows the olds drive train and have it checked out.

Does anyone know of any such shop?

The engine on this unit is a 403. Is this engine any better or worse
than the 454? I hope some kind soul out there will take me under their
wing and lead me to safe ground.----->Hugh

Dave, I owned two Revcons. The word "quality" is not in their dictionary. I
doubt I would accept one as a gift after my experiences.

Revcon was made by Revcon and a fine coach it is. Hugh's must be a late
77 or 1978 if it has the 455 Olds engine. Actually several other coach
makers used the same drive train. Revcon evidently extended the chassis
as they are (I believe) 31' in length.

There is a Olds Toronado web site..maybe Arch can help out here as I
think he has posted it in the past. Anyway, Hugh, anyone who can repair a
GMC drive train will be familiar with your Revcon. Good luck with it.

I believ there is also a Revcon club or two as chapters of FMCA. Worth
looking into.

GMC Netters, remember we are competing with Revcon, Clark-Cortez and a
few other boaters for these engines, not to mention the Toronado
afficianados!
