Everything is coming along quite well. I treated the new wood with a mixture
of varnish and linseed oil. First coat was readily absorbed , especially the
edges. Two more coats seemed to complete the job. I also coated the exposed
edges of the original plywood floor. Didn't absorb very much so I am
assuming that it was originally treated at the factory. Installed the new
floor with screws rather than the pop rivets used originally, and sealed all
the edges with 30 year silicone. Pleasure to walk on now. Solid as a rock.
When I removed the plastic liner that surrounds the back window I found the
leaks. Someone had moved the ladder from the left side to the right (Rush
Limbaugh fan ) and both places were leaking. Also found leaks in three of
the five clearance lights per Jim Bounds instructions. By the way, Talked to
Jim on Friday. What a pleasure to do business with this guy. He has my vote
for President. Full of information and willing to share it all. Jim set me
up with all the rubber to fix ALL the windows, front and back. Came to less
than $80. Its a pleasure doing business with him. So now I am trying to
locate three clearance lights. These are triangular in shape and have a
ridge running front to back. Are they original?? Are they Available??
