Replacing Captains seats on early slant base

Our coach came with some really awful seats and we wanted to regain a vintage look with the swivel function so I took some seats and slant bases from
an early Palm Beach parts coach, had the bases sandblasted and powdercoated and installed them on our brand new carpet, and guess what? They're
really uncomfortable! Now I'm wondering what it would take to go the route that many others seem to have and put a Honda or Toyota minivan's 2nd row
captain chair in. As I worked so hard to refinish and reinstall the bases I really want to keep them. How hard will it be to put these seats on an
early slant base?

I put Honda seats in my '74. My friend and I cut down the pedestals as the seats would have been way too high. We used unistrut under the Honda seats
and then bolted that to the original swivel. I posted picture

There may be better ways but that is what we came up with.

Wow, was that a 4" drop on that slant base?

Yeah I saw that. Being that I just spent money powdercoating them I'm not really wanting to start over. Does anyone know of a modern seat that might
bolt on to the slant base to retain the spin function but give a little more comfort?

What about re-foaming the original seats? I have had motorcycle seats re done that were extremely omfortable. Retains the appearance without
sacrificing comfort.
