Darren asks:

"Would there be interest in a replacement slide system for your Onan
generators? It seems as though the original ones are wearing out. Does
Onan already make a replacement?"

During overhaul of my 6000 Watt Onan I did inquire regarding
replacements. The Onan partsman who I deal with says the
slides are obsolete with no replacement listed.

I reviewed my old slides and was planning on a rebuild however
I would be interested in new slides. On the slides on my Onan
the steel channel has opened..

If I rebuild the slides the channel would get reinforced. Under normal
circumstances the steel channel might have been strong enough
however when I got it my Onan did not run very good. I suspect that
operating a rough running powerplant with the drawer extended
might have contributed to the damage to the slides.

In a new slide, in addition to increased capacity I would like more
opening. Cleanup of the compartment would be easier if the
drawer slid out further.

While thickness of the slide cannot be increased nor can the
length height of the slide could probably be increased if that
could provide more weight capacity.

Do you have the dimmensions for the slides?

I can make available jpegs and dimmensions rapidly if that would help.

I am not planning on putting the powerplant back in the motorhome for a
little while yet therefore should you need I could send a slide down to
you.
