Final question for tonight - has anyone considered engineered wood flooring
for their coach rather than carpet or sheetgoods? I'm speaking of
something like Pergo which has some very nice styles (looks like hardwood)
and wears like iron. It is also foam insulated, so it may help with
heating and cooling. Any thoughts?

Had a SOB RV with rugs on the floor for 7 years and 80K of travel. Never
again! Sand and dirt always made its way deep into the rug. Steamed cleaned
it every year. When we redid our gutted GMC, installed once piece
polyurethane floor [simulated wood planking] with foam backing everywhere
except over the engine platform. Had some of the same rug used in the
engine compartment made into rubber backed throw runner rug that can be
taken out of the coach and cleaned. Also used a regular bathroom rubber
backed throw rug at the entrance that can be shook out to dump the sand and
dirt. It also can be washed in a standard wash machine on the road. The
combination has worked out well in our first 10K trip. We always kick our
shoes off when entering the coach.

We are done in the Sierras for the year. Where are you going next. We'd like
to meet you and other GMC'ers who are out and about. Maybe we should start a
'HELPING HAND" Index. I did that with the Motorcycle for years. In those days
it was called AMA, SCMA, HDDA and a few others. Any body interested in this.
All you do is have your name and location state city etc and telephone number
and willing to assist if called. Chuck, 78 Eleganza II, Lompoc, CA

Great idea. Another idea is to carry the GMC Motorhomes, Int'l roster
with you. When you break down on the road, call the nearest GMC owner and
ask them who in their area is qualified to solve your problem. THEN call
your towing service and have them take you to that destination!

I thought about that but I think that carpet would be better for raod
noise.

I do that, this time in SLC I didn't have enough people to call. I should
have analyzed all my prossiblities. I really though a Genuine Oldsmobile
Dealer would know what to do! Wrong again. Thanks chuck
