I have a couple of questions for everyone.

My generator will not respond to anything from the remote start panel. The much mentioned 4 conductor plug behind/underneath/beside/somewhere around
the generator does not exist on mine. I have found four wires with crimp connectors on them, so perhaps those are the correct wires and the plug has
been eliminated, but they're too far back in the compartment and too short for me to get to. I think I am just going to run a new four conductor cable
from the generator control board to the remote start panel and try to fix the start/stop issue that way.

While working with the remote start panel, this is what I have discovered:

Tank levels, gray, black, and water, seem to work.
Water pump switch works.
Battery level meter does not work, but has ground and 12 volts on it's terminal, so I think it is kaput.
Fuel gauge reads full.
PO removed all traces of propane, so propane level does not work.

My questions are:

What does the Fuel Gauge indicate? Gasoline for the generator? My gas tanks are at about 3/4 full right now.

Where can I get a new battery level meter?

Greg,
Before try to replace the 4 cond wire redo the 4 connectors at the back of the generator. If you must replace the wiring then you want to use at least 14 gauge wire.

Greg, first of all, does the rocker start switch on the generator start it?
If not, you may not have anything wrong with the remote panel.

panel. Sorry, I should have stated this in my first post.

I feel certain I can fix that issue by running new 4 conductor cable, just wanted to know if the volt meter can be purchased, and the purpose of the
fuel gauge.

Disconnect the suspect cable at both ends. Run a long stringer wire with alligator clips on both ends from gen area to inside panel and Ohm out each
wire and check for shorts to all others. You could use the chassis but if wire is grounded out you won’t get true readings. Mine was good panel to
left front corner of gen compartment. I bought flat multi marine wire at West and soldered and shrunk at that point, then loomed it around back the
factory way and along with the armored cable amd to the board area where it connects on top row.

Do what John said, bypass the cable first and make sure you have a working combo of switch and generator. One end or the other could be broken and the
cable is just fine, it's easy to get fooled when dealing with suspect components.

The fuel gauge is for the propane tank.

Even easier....

The center contact of the remote switch is ground. Since you said nothing works at the remote, the ground is the only common connection for Start/Stop
Run light and hour meter.

Run a new ground wire to the aluminum frame and see if it works. All the functions take less than an one amp, so a connection to the body frame will
suffice.

If that does not fix it, then measure the voltage at the terminals of the switch while pressing the Start then Stop. The contacts are on the opposite
side of switch from the function. I think you press the top of the switch for Start, so the Start terminal is at the bottom of the switch. It should
goto near zero volts when pressed. If it does, then your problem is in the wiring to the circuit board or the circuit board itself. If the voltage
does not drop to near zero, then check the voltage at the center terminal to be sure it is Zero volts. Then check the switch from the center terminal
to the bottom terminal. When you press Start, the voltage should drop to near zero. If not, the switch is bad.

Thanks everyone for the replies on this.

I made up a jumper with alligator clips on both ends as suggested to ohm out the lines. I got no continuity on any of them. I unplugged the large
connector and cleaned with contact cleaner, still no joy.

The much discussed/maligned four conductor plug was missing on my coach. Probably already replaced.

While feeling around between the wall and the refrig behind the remote control panel, I felt all kinds of connectors and plugs which shouldn't be
there, which led me to believe all this wiring was a victim of

PO work.

I didn't want to pull out the refrigerator for access, so, I ran a new four conductor cable from the generator control board to the remote control
panel. Disconnected and taped up the old spade terminals,

and connected the new cable. Generator starts, stops, and runs as it should. Generator light comes on, hour meter works. I installed the fuel pump
prime switch also.

Now to work on why the starter sounds so terrible. I think the nose bushing may be bad, as the bracket is not yet broken.
