Relocating the oil filter

Did the GMC come with the oil filter housing connected by hose to block? I've only seen two GMCs up close and they both had that. Not sure if it is
an add on?

Anyway, the REVCON has the oil filter housing right on the block. I'm thinking i want to move it and add an oil cooler. I'm looking for
recmendations on what to use and how to do it.

GMC used an oil cooler adaptor that has hoses that connect the adapter to
the radiator cooler and return to the adapter. It is a separate part that
sandwiches between the oil filter and the block adapter. So, there are
three separate pieces. Don't know what setup the Revcon uses.

Dave the filter bracket is mounte to the block where the oil comes out into
the bracket and into the filter.
The motorhome has a sandwich adapter above the filter where the two
fittings are there to send oil to the cooler and return.

I have never seen a remote oil filter on a GMC 455 or 403. The oil filter usually mounts to an adapter right on the passenger side rear of the
engine. Then GM added another adapter between the oil filter adapter and the oil filter. This allowed the connection of two hoses to run the oil off
to an oil cooler mounted inside the radiator.

THanks. THat's what i saw and that's what i am trying to obtain.

THere are lots of products on the 455 performance sites. Just trying to figure out the est option.

I have played and assisted people with performance parts, but lot of those
thing do not help the motorhome and create lot of headache later.

If you are trying to set up a remote oil cooler then you need the adapter that goes between the the engine mounted adapter and the oil filter. You
will also need the single hollow mounting bolt and a single gasket.

The gasket can be obtained by taking an oil filter and removing the rubber ring.

There are two versions of the oil the remote oil cooler adapter. Either will work. The difference is the direction of the oil lines that come off of
it. One points straight forward (455 engine) and the other one points about 30 degrees to the right (403 engine). You probably would be better off
with the 403 version. Now you need to find someone with a burned up coach and remove the adapter from the engine. (simple job)

Those adapters are available at most of the speed shops, but they won't have the locator key that our OE parts have.

What I have been wanting and can't seem to locate are the Modine Donut oil coolers. We used them in dyno labs all the time. Instead of hot oil lines
going to the radiator, it is just plumbed into the coolant's heater circuit. They work great and if your engine as a casualty that sheds metal, you
just toss it. We actually used to toss them when clearing out any durability engine.

with no 1G2 Pontaic VIN as completed by PAS.

around for the larger.
