Troops.......A happy 4th of July to you all. I need some of your vast
knowledge of refrigeration. I have a 3 way Servel Dometic Silhouette S630
refrigerator/freezer. On propane, the freezer goes down to 8 degrees, but
the refer unit only goes to 55. This is with nothing in the freezer and
nothing in the refrigerator. There are no buzzard nests in the flue and the
jet is clean and the flame a pretty blue. Anyone out there have any
exciting suggestions? I don't know how much longer I can hold my child
bride at bay!........Jim Davis on the Oregon Coast where we're having
another 72 degree heat wave.

Try putting something in the fridge compartment. They work better when there is
something there. How old is the fridge? Has it been run off level ever? Is
there good circulation of air around the coils in the back? Does it work better
on 110? If all of this fails, I would suspect, you need to replace the cooling
coil. Not cheap but better than buying a new fridge. The coil is about $500.00.
It is a bit of a job, but you can replace it yourself. Before you give up. Take
the fridge out of the GM and shake it up. Turn it over and over a couple of
times and, basically give the chemicals in the coil a good mixing. Don't worry,
this will not hurt anything in any way, on the fridge anyway. Sometimes when
all else fails this will give you fridge new life. If you can answer my
questions above, I may, yet, be of more help. Darren

Oh, yeah. Take all of the stuff out of the fridge first. It makes it lighter.

Just turning it upside-down isn't the answer. There is a very specific method to
turning in order to purge any air bubblesin the system. Check with the mfg for the
proper way.
