Recommendations for better Gas Mileage??!!: Caspro, Jacobs, TBI, Get over It

I am finally getting to the point of starting to care about the smaller
things. Just finish Installing a Napa Steering box. -- I should done this
first thing-- I have a little budget money left over. The next item on the
list is better fuel mileage.

So here is the situation. I am currently getting 6 to 6.5 miles per gallon
on my 1977 403 with 109,000 miles. I have no complaints about power or
starting. In fact it runs pretty darn near perfect. The only problem is the
fuel mileage. Recommendations: Should I:

Leave well enough alone? ---Get over it--

Replace the carb with a Caspro rebuilt? Or other?

Put a Jacobs Spark System?

Put a Fuel injection System? If so suggestion, Part # and vendors

Other Suggestions?

Jack,
You haven't told us what speed you are traveling, how many miles you drove
to get the average, whether you are clean or towing, etc. I'd say if you
are traveling at 65-70 into the wind with the Onan running, you're doing
very well. In my 14 years driving this dream machine, 6.5 to 10 mpg is
normal depending on conditions. If its running as you say, I wouldn't mess
with it.
