Rear Sway Bars

I am very close to ordering a four bagger system from Leigh Harrison to
get rid of my coaches wallow. But now I find out that Rance has a rear
swaybar for about $175 each side. So now I am wondering, would a sway
bar solve my problem sufficiently enough. Has anyone added the Rance
swaybar with good success in getting rid of wallow? Larry

Before you spend the money on the 4 bagger system have you made sure that
the rear bogie bushings and shocks are OK. I am happy to say that my coach
does not seem to wander and sway like some are talking about. Others I have
talked to experience the same thing. Seems to me that many might be
spending big money to hide a problem that is much cheaper to fix.

My experience is about the same as yours. As we've brought all of the
steering components to spec the handling gets better. The stock suspension
(plus Bilstein shocks) on our 76 Palm Beach tracks extremely well.
Hands-off the wheel and the coach continues to track. Recovery from
dropping a wheel onto the roadside where there is a change in surface
height is pretty easy and lacks all of the excitement that I used to have.

Larry,
I agree with Thomas, do not attempt to cover up a problem by throwing $ at
the coach. Check out your suspension components very carefully and be
certain you are in proper alignment. I have cured many drivability
problems by doing a 6 wheel alignment and truing the tires.

I will tell you though that even if your coach is mechanically perfect and
your alignment is right on, the 4 air bag system will greatly improve your
handling. If you are leary, you need to drive a coach with it. Leigh will
ba at the Myrtle Beach rally and will be happy to let you drive his.

I'm thinking about installing a 4 air bag system on my coach at the rally
to let people see what's involved.

Check everything out first, bbut I would still recommend the 4 air bag system.
