"I've never had to do this myself, but I thought the way to handle
this
was to tap the holes from the backside of the bogie"
I am sure it wouldn't cause any trouble to tap the holes.
I could have easily tapped the holes on the 2 boggie arms I had off the
coach
The boggie arm with the bad spindle did not need new bushings
and therefore could stay on the coach.
Leaving parts on the coach was a good thing. Once I started on the
overhaul of suspension steering and brakes not many other parts
stayed attached to the coach and I was running out of space in
my garages.
