Rear bogie end play.

One of my rear bogie arms appears to have more end-play than I would think
be acceptable. The slop is end play only. I was reading some information
on one of arch's links and found something to do with "hats" in the castings
that are adjustable. I haven't had a chance to look in the service manuals
yet but was wondering if this is a big chore to make an adjustment. Is this
truly adjustable or do I have to remove a pin and go for a thicker or
additional thrust washer?

Mike,
Tighening the big locknut should take out any play, unless the "hat bushing
is seized in the housing.
The manual calls for tightening untill there is no play, then backing off
until the arm rotates freely, then torqueing the nut to 15 - 20 ft.lb.
