Rear bed dimensions

My '75 Palm Beach has the rear dinette that converts to a bed. Does anyone have the dimensions of the back area when it's converted to the bed? I
have a strange sized mattress from an oversized hospital bed that might fit, but I don't have my coach at home to check on the dimensions.

Thanks in advance for your help.

The permanent bed that I'm building in the back is 54"x80", if that helps.

The dinette converts to a standard double bed. 54" wide and 74" long. The seats are 48" wide, the 6" bolster makes it 54". Each seat, when folded down
is 37", two if which makes 74". My '73 has a "clothes hamper" built over the propane compartment. If that is removed, it would make room for what is
called a "double XL" which, as a previous post mentioned, is 54" wide by 80" long. The space might be a little longer, but the double and double XL
are the sizes of sheet sets that are common.

George,
What I did was to take my coach to a local mattress factory, and had them take the measurements. There is a bit of custom cut in the very rear to fit
it between the tail lights so you don't roll into the void. just a couple of inches, but it does make a difference.
These new foam mattresses are very comfortable, around $500.
Good luck! Scott

Hi George

The rear dinettes have a “bolster” to the rear under the window which will be level with the top of the dinette seat when it is folded down.

This gives a 54” width. The length between the top cabinet and the bottom is 75”.

We purchased a mattress from Camping World a few years back that was exactly 54x75. We also purchased a topper pad. That has resulted in a very comfortable bed.

I am 6'4" which means that length is everything...that said, I removed the "locker box' at the end of my Palm Beach and made a custom replacement
about the same width as the wall cover at the opposite end.
The result is almost the length of a king size bed...width is an entirely different matter!! "Snuggling is cool"!!
Sorry that I cant give the exact measurements tonight but, I'll be at the coach tomorrow...

R U a member of a GMC Motorhome club? If not, the GMC 6 Wheelers would like to invite you to join us.
Our area is a 200 mile radius from Chicago and we do 6 rallies per year (May thru Oct) and usually the third weekend of the month.
We are a smaller GMC club than most and are pretty laid back - we have two business meetings per year and they are held during our rallies (usually May and Oct).
Let me know if you are interested.
