Reaction Arm Drum Brakes

IIRC, Tom Pryor's reaction arm setup works with either drums or discs.
Check with JimK; I think he sells it.

I have been on the phone with Nick and just spent a couple thousand on a final drive liked slip and mirrors and conversation were you are out stock of
the reaction arm. So now I am looking and new drums and brake lines will be finished next week.

Ah Grant, I am not sure that I am the person that you are looking for. I do
not make any reaction arm pieces. I have installed a bunch of them, as well
as well as 1 ton front ends, and disc brake conversions. But, I don't make
any of it. I do stock torsion bars that Peter Huber and I had made by a
company in California. I stock them to avoid having to charge for shipping
and California Sales taxes.
Manny Traveo makes a reaction arm system, and I believe that Jim K. sells
them. I am not positive about this, but Nick should be able to tell you.

Get the kit Jim K sells, there is a drum specific and a disc specific with minor but essential changes between them. I've fitted two, both to drum
brakes. First one took a couple of days, second one in a day. If I had new drums, bearings, and seals, I'd hold them till the arm kit got there,
since the backing plate and hardware has to come off for the install. They're worth the work.

Thanks Johnny little to late for that everything is new in the back. Working on the brake lines now then done. I heard some where it all has to come
apart to install the reaction arm. Not sure I am interested now in re hashing all that work again.

Let me suggest you drive a coach with and one without. I suspect that will convince you to make the effort. Or have a look at the vid on JimK's
site.

I have a Reaction Arm drum drum kit I purchased from Jim a few years ago and never got around to installing. It looks very heavy duty and would have
worked well but now it sits unused in my attic since I went to intermediate disks in the back. The kit is available for sale at a good price now that
I need the attic emptied of my GMC surplus parts.

Richard,

You just talk to JimK or TomP and buy the parts to use it with the disks in the intermediate.

Thanks for the info, but I'm guessing that will not work as I have Lenzi's disk brake system on the intermediate wheels. He uses a different (his own
design) backing plate etc. to mount Ford F350 rotors and calipers.
