Range Hood

Arch, I've put a pic of the installed Suburban furnace on my site. It
might help you. It might not.

Also, my range hood leaks cold air like a broken window! I haven't had a
chance to look into it yet, but am wondering if ya'll can tell me what's
apt to be the problem in there. There's a pic of it at

Billy,
It is probably not your range hood that is the problem, but the outside
vent cover. Check and see if the moving cover is missing, They come
with a small latch to stop the cover from opening when traveling down
the road. The last person that owned my GMC had sealed the vent closed
with silicone because the tape type hinge had failed. I went to my
local RV store and found a replacement even in the right color.

To tell ya the truth, I don't think it's even got a flapper valve.

haha, already taped it up.

Yeah, that's the DC260's handi work. It defaults to a 1536 X 1024
resolution X 16 million color shot. I even used the anti-red eye on it.
I usuallly re dimension 'em for the web but wanted Patrick to be able
to see as much detail as possible on that black air cleaner,

I just went out and double checked. The only thing between the elements
and the stove through that vent is a piece of screen wire to keep the bugs
out. There ain't no flapper!

Guess I'll be making a door out of aluminum and duct tape if that's all
there is to a new one anyway.

Seals good, no clatter and the required walk around to remove it adds to the
appetite

Sounds good to me Heinz. We hardly ever use that stove anyhow.

In regards to your rangehood. I not only had a water problem, but last year
had a wasp's nest the size of a grapefruit in there. I removed the vent
from the outside and stretched fiberglass screening across the back and
reinstalled it. It acts as a barrier for the wasps, but also keeps the
water out.

All this talk about range hoods.......I removed the whole shebang several
years ago and sealed up the opening to the outside. Haven't missed it a
bit. Instead I mounted the microwave where that little cabinet is/was
that contained the range hood.

We don't use the gas range much. We removed the 3 burner and installed a
2 burner then made a cover for it. The micro handles just about all our
meal preparation reqmts.
