Zak, I have been looking for a free flowing dual inlet ram air system
that can be adapted to the GMC quadrajet in order to reduce intake air
temperature....got any suggestions?

Terry

Terry,

I don't know about any dual inlet systems. We would be interested if you
find something that is low profile though. We just hooked up some flexible
intake hose (like dryer outlet hose but a little more durable) from the
auto parts store to the current air cleaner intake. We first ran it to the
grill and used Ragusa's aluminum scoop in the grill. We have since added a
shroud to the grill to force all the air through the radiator. It would
have been too hard to keep the scoop in the grill, so it is now mounted
underneath the front bumper. It seems to work pretty well there, and our
only problems have been the hose falling apart after a while and the need
to change the filter more often due to an increase of bugs stuck in it. We
started with regular dryer hose, then better dryer hose, and then we moved
to flexible aluminum dryer hose. We now have the intake hose which seems
to be lasting the longest out of what we have tried.

Thanks for the quick tip, Frank. I will contact them this week and see
if they can get me some pics, brochure and parts list.

Terry,

There aren't any pictures of it on the web that I know of. I can take one
of ours if you want. They have pictures in their catalog I think. They
make a couple of custom GMC parts, so the free catalog is worth getting.

Their contact information is

Ragusa Pattern Shop
1920-D E. Warner (this line looks strange but that's how it is in GMCMM)
Santa Ana CA 92705
(714) 261-5898

Their scoop is pretty nice. It is made to fit in one of the GMC front
grill slot openings. It goes from a narrow rectangular opening (for the
grill) to a 4" round opening to attach the duct for the air-cleaner.

We also use their trans pan, final drive cover, and wind-wings. We have
been happy with all their products so far.

ZAK,

just so happens I called them (Ragusa) today and asked them to send me a
catalog.... said they'd stick it in the mail today! More stuff to look
at that I can convince myself I REALLY HAVE TO HAVE that I probably
don't need. Oh, well, you can't take it with ya.
