Hi All
A few weeks ago I installed my version of "RAM-AIR" on
my '73 XPD. I used a (flex-a-spout) downspout
extension from Home-Depot UCP# 17857 01602.
Because it is corrugated plastic (like the kids
drinking straws) it forms just perfect around the
bends to the middle grill opening on the drives side.
it extends from 25" to 55" (more than enough to fit).
I cut the rectangular end at about a 30 degrees
because it feeds into the grill at an angle (plus it
give more surface area for the scoop) - then used 4
stainless screws to secure it to the grill.
Attachment to the air horn was simple - I just cut off
the smooth round end and slipped the first corrugated
section over the air horn --
Final touch was the spray the inside and outside of
the pickup end of the hose with flat black paint-- so
it blends in with my grill - (I should have done this
step first)
