Rain rain go away but anyway got soggy carpets?

Here in the Bay area we have had 12 days of solid rain most areas are 70 percent of normal rain fall.anywho in moderate rains my coach only leaked on the front drivers side window that slides.but i come to find my carpet was soaked at the door area.i tried drying and getting up as much water as possible.i used a fast fan to help dry it.

Only prob is i thought i only had a slight leak but it was totally soaked thro.i imagine the door stripping is part of it.i have tried auto parts stores and places like homedepot or osh.cant seem to find
the same material or the right stuff?

I must not be the only one in this boat.i decided to hold off selling it for now.i hate it sitting in storage but love it when i drive it lol.but thats off topic.how or where would i find the weather stipping that insalates the door jam seal.

I couldent find the exact size who knows it may not be made anymore?its saposed to rain heavy again.i dont want any dry rot.

I can only think of a rv place?

Tia,

First of all I must ask if your GMC is suffering from body squat which can
result in the top and or bottom of the door not aligned with the body. If it
is you will need to re-curve the door.

Second does your GMC have an "eyebrow" below the gutter and above the door
like the one pictured below? It keeps water out of the top of the door?

Give Jim K a call to see if he has them. He might have the OEM door seal. If

I fixed my leak at the top of the door by adding an eyebrow above the door and adding a new door seal. Got mine from Jim Bounds.

BTW

I was just trying to shorten my sig so TIA is actually (thanks in advance) not my name sorry.i will have to check if i have an EYEBROW?not sure i if noticed one.not sure about the squat either but i may have it.i have noticed bo-ing panels or out of sink.sides from time to time but not sure.i need something for insalation.it should help but the door looks as tho its been removed and re hung.but no idea if its was recurved or what.

om PO mounts, etc. but my cockpit windows were ok with new felt, and new w=
indshields with new gaskets are solid. Then this past year I painted after =
sealing all the roof holes and re-setting drip rails. So - my coach is DRY =
as a desert now except for: a very strange leak I cannot figure out. Few y=
ears ago I built side-by-side drawers into my dinette seat base, by the doo=
r. They're great for tools. I use them all the time. This past year I notic=
ed the outside drawer had moisture in it, I investigated and the tools in i=
t had surface rust. Then, maybe two weeks ago, I went in there and found an=
inch of water after a heavy rain. No moisture under the drawer, none on th=
e carpet, none on the side, none on the seat, which was reupholstered with =
pleather, only the drawer itself. and the only reason it held the water was=
because over the summer I painted them with varnish, several coats. I am t=
otally baffled. No wetness anywhere near the seat or floor, and the drawer =

Remember the rule: ALL RV's leak.

Your problem is just there to prove it -- no matter what you do, they'll
leak SOMEWHERE. Something to do with the perversity of inanimate objects.

Water entering along the beltline, traveling along the underside of the
dinette seat base and then dripping down into the draw?

This may or may not have anything to do with your problem... But here in the great north-wet, when it gets cold in the the coach my tools also get cold. The tools "hold" the cold when the coach gets warmed up. Then, just like a cold glass, condensation forms on the tools. I have found quite a bit of moisture around the tools... just never that much standing water. (My coach is normally under a cover so leaks are not that much of an issue.)

Nope not condensation, too much water, not the beltline either, the stripe is new and has three coats of new paint under two coats of clear. I think its probably the side window and is being channeled under the seat somehow. I'm doing a trip up to Penn State in two weeks, I'll have some time to try a few tests
