Marlene--
I have both and have no complaints. I like the temp. monitor feature, the
extra quart of transmission fluid, and the drain plugs. I suppose cooling is
better but I had no "before" data.

Marlene: I have both on my coach and I haven't put enough miles on them to
say that they help. However, the transmission pan is generally considered
of merit. I like the look of the final drive pan and it does allow the oil
to be drained without taking it off (I think). They are also drilled and
tapped for temperature sensors. I would recommend buying the Ragusa
products from Caspro. The price is (was) similar to Ragusa and Caspro adds
in a couple of nice items. The instruction sheet that Caspro prepared is
very clear and helpful. They also recommend not using a gasket and they
include the high temp sealer in the package. When I discussed this with
Ragusa, they said that they just use a gasket. The other advantage of
buying from Caspro is that you can get excellent (if not overly friendly)
technical support.

As an aside, I should mention that I like buying from a company like Caspro
if the price is reasonable. I have found that his equipment is extremely
well engineered and the installation instructions are well thought through.
You can also call and get support (but good technical support seems to be
the norm with most of the GMC suppliers which says a lot about the nature
of the community). The problem tends to be in the pricing. His shocks,
transmission shift kits, oil pans and many other items are very
competitively priced. However, I found significantly lower pricing for rear
sway bars and steering box (which I believe to be of similar quality and
features) from other suppliers.

It's hard to say, but I believe the Ragusa tranny pan dropped my temp by 10 to
20 degrees (measured at transmission outlet). In addition, you get a convenient
drain fitting so you don't have to drop the pan to change the oil, as with the
OEM version. As for the gasket, when you buy a new tranny filter (which you
should install), you'll get a new gasket with it.

Then I guess the question is what is the # for the tranny filter? And where
is the best place to go get one?

Marlene Dont own Ragusa Trans pan but do have Ragusa step which I'm very
happy with. There was some mention a while back that the Ragusa pan gave you
less ground clearance than stock pan. Might ask someone who owns one if this
is any concern to you

I use the pan. Bought it so I could add a temp gage and have a drain plug.
It is probably worth the $$$ (to me, anyway).

Hi Vic, So the Ragusa and Caspro Tranny pan are the same pan? Is the final
the same also? Do you use the sealer or gaskets for both? thanks for any
info.
