I am trying to install a new Jensen am-fm cd radio.
I need to run some new speaker wires because i understand the new radios
don't support grounded
speaker wires.How is the best way to run them and where are the old ones
routed.
All other info on installing this would greatly appreciated.

Unless you are restoring your coach to original, you should
consider the dash mod. - Let the radio installer (you if you feel
comfortable) cut the dash face & the metal backing to fit the new radio.
Be careful with the height of the radio. The first modern radio we tried
did not completely cover the original opening & we had to fabricate a
bezel from black plastic.

Gene:

I replaced my original radio with a Kenwood model KRC-3006, which fits
the original opening. It comes with built in controls for a remote CD
changer, which is a plug in operation. I mounted the CD changer in the
overhead cabinet behind the drivers seat.

One thing I believe you will find with most vehicle type radios is that
you can have either a CD player or tape player, but not both. I have
both the way I did it.

Gene:
I installed a Radio, CB and Tape Deck combination from a 79 Cad in my
coach. Removed the female plug from the old radio and installed it on 79
Cad radio so that you could use the orginal wiring plug in the coach. You
may have to install small jumpers to the plug you removed from the old radio.

The only small modification to the dash is the right knob support will
have to be bent to accept the radio controls. Everything else fits
perfect. If you are not familiar with rewiring the plug, you may have to
get a shop or individual who can do it for you. The B plus wire (12 volt)
was connected to the ignition switch.

I like this set up because you can listen to music and at the same time you
can monitor your CB channels without both units on at the same time. When
there is traffic on your CB channel that you have selected the radio/tape
deck automatically cuts off and CB comes on. When the CB stops receiving
the music comes back on.

There are different combinations when the radio is on such as FM, AM, CB,
Tape Deck.

Eugene,
I know cutting the face sounds scarry, but it really is not a difficult
mod. The metal underneith is already cut to accept the DIN, all that is
needed is to bend the "ears back and cut the face bezel. As someone
else pointed out, a good car stereo installation shop can do a grear job
of the fit without mush pain.

The real adaptation is to your speaker wiring. Common ground circuits
were used in the early coaches, later styles had 2 wires to each speaker
which makes installing high power radios possible. If you only have 5
speaker wires (not 8), you have a common grounded system and must run
seperate wires to each speaker.
