Try a Kenwood model 3006 (head unit/radio), a dual control shaft unit
like the original. It fits the original opening with no alterations.
If you install it yourself, you'll also need to get the appropriate
electrical connectors (Radio Shack is a source) to replace the original
ones in the coach wiring so you can connect the new radio. I installed
mine in 1995. Works great.
The beauty of the above model is that it already has built in controls
to operate a Kenwood remote CD changer. No wiring other than the
connecting cable (it has power and control leads) between the radio and
changer is required. Mounted my changer in the overhead cabinet behind
the drivers seat.
Kenwood also makes a model 1006 and 2006 head unit, neither of which
have the CD player capability like the 3006 does, for alternate choices.
