I know that this is blasphemous territory, but I'm bored. How about
totally removing the air suspension system and replacing it with a
sprung system, backed up with heavy duty torsion bars. This idea has
been skulking around the back of my head for some time now. I can see
all the merits but I am sure that I am missing most of the faults. It
would also require a parked, leveling system (HWH or such) What do you
people think. Be constructive now. It's just an idea. It seems to solve
more problems than it may cause. Comments. Darren

Darren,

If you want to be constructive with all this spare time you've got on
your hands, then figure out a way to replace those bushings in the
bogies with tapered roller or needle bearings. Or even better, figure
out a way to seal the front wheel bearings so we can lube them with oil
instead of grease. According to Ken Thoma, they'd last forever and you
could service them as easy as changing your oil.

Well Patrick, not even Porsche or Mercedes Has figured out a way to oil lube
CV joints. When they do, though, you can bet it is going to be a more
expensive fix than any of us could afford. The bogies, just shoot some WD40
in there. That ought to take care of them till they self destruct. Darren

Why not replace your air bag with a big coil spring.

Should be easy to try and you can always back track if you don't like it.

Wait,,,,, even if there is no improvement,,,,, don't back track ,,,,, there
is great business potential here.

You can advertise about the enhanced ride, improved cornering, automatic rut
control. Look in the RV magazines and you will see exactly how to write
your ads.

This is great !! I'll bet you can sell them like crazy and make more money
than most men dream of.

Me? I'm trying to figure out how to add front air bags. Can I have your
old ones?

him out of trouble.

Maybe what he needs to do is get a project coach like Bob Teed or Mike
Finnicum! That would not only keep him out of mischief but he could try
out some of his radical ideas and perhaps spawn a new industry!

I hope he is like my son, Darren and has a good ense of humor.
