Proper fan clutch

Does anyone have exp with Hayden 15-4298 No roar fan clutch? I had
this unit installed on my GMC last summer when I was experiencing
overheating problems. A local shop checked out cooling system and could
not find any problems except for fan clutch. This unit is listed in
GMCMI parts interchange index as proper one for GMC, but I have been
told by other owners that this unit is to liteweight for motorhome use
and should be replaced by heavy duty one. I do still experience
overheating when conditions are right and cannot tell by fan noise or or
air volume, with cover lifted, whether the fan ever locks up. When
engine is cold I can turn fan easily by hand but it is not what I would
call freewheeling. I've been looking at A NAPA unit for 82 Olds
Diesel which I was told was heavy enough for motorhome, but cant see
any difference by looking. Any for sure #s that work or comments would
be appreciated

Bill:

Recommended fan clutch is a Hayden #2797.

Thanks for quick reply. that Hayden # doesn't show up in any of the info I
have. I'll file it and see what other #s turn up.

Bill:

I just replaced fan clutch on the coach last fall. Bought Hayden from Pep
Boys (~$87). Local NAPA couldn't come up with an equivalent.
