If I didn't think I had a competent, certified shop to do the work, I
wouldn't be doing it. If they are certified by MOT here and DOT in the
states then there is no problem. All relevant testing will be carried
out and the tanks WILL be ASTME certified and stamped. Worst case
scenario I make 10 tanks and don't sell them all. Tanks which are
supplied with your propane BBQ are stamped or not depending where it
comes from. Even if the tank in the rear quarter locker is stamped and
is struck hard by another car or a large truck it is totally exposed to
damage. There is no frame or cross members to protect it. By mounting
underneath it will be housed in its own safety cage, so to speak. I
still like the idea and will continue to pursue it. A little flak is
good for hammering out the finer details. If the tank is not certified I
won't be trying it. I, like everyone else, am concerned about safety
issues. I do have three small children traveling with me. If I don't
feel it is safe it will be trashed. Darren
