With all this snow on the ground, why not add an auxiliary evaporator or two...summer is coming.
Just got my hydracrimp and fittings, 2 17k btu evaporators...and A6 rebuild kit. I'll post progress.

Here is the passenger duct, the in dash units Has 4 2'" ports....in back feed the front passenger dash vent with one. Thes duct was tricky to remove
since it is riveted in place, I will need to come up with a creative way to reconnect blind behind the dash.

I just bought a 13000 btu heater cooler. I was thinking about mounting it in the cabinet where the vacuum is but not sure.
Looking forward to seeing your project so I can figure out my install.

The manufacturer claims this unit can be mounted vertically, but I will probably add a drip pan anyway. The depth is only 5 inches and fits between
the supports on the cheek wall. The evaporator will only stick our as far as the side panel. I'll post some more details soon, this was a dry mock
up.
This is the evaporator I bought...http://www.rainbowproductsonline.com/new/option2/ac-products/ac-kits2-2964.php. I plan on putting one on each side,
piped in with individual solenoid valves.

I'm VERY interested in your IceBox project - considering the same for my coach.

Great find on that evaporator and your placement idea is ingenious!! I might copy it

I've always been a little hesitant about putting one in the middle under the dash - as we have a little dog that travels in her bed at that location.

Please keep us posted with progress and discoveries.
