I thought Patrick put a filter on to prevent Yahoo and AOL users. Here is a GMCnet notice that appeared a couple of years ago:
Yahoo and AOL have implemented something called DMARC, which causes problems for the GMCnet mailing list. Yahoo.com and AOL.com e-mail addresses will
be rejected for new registrations. Existing users need to update their profile and use a different e-mail account.

encouraged....

You could have gone back to email any time (although I have no idea why anyone would). Just get a netzero or juno or msn or gmail or any free email
account other than yahoo and use it for GMCNet.
