Eric actually both.
If the gasket on your dipstick leaks then it needs to be
replaced. Not uncommon. It is cork.
The Onan will pressurize the crankcase even with good
rings and the PCV working properly. I too had to learn not
to open the oil fill (dipstick) while the motor was running.
