In all our post about fires and replacing brake lines and cooler lines I
haven't seen a post about power steering hoses (the forgotten hose) mine
ruptured while traveling on I-75 and sprayed fluid on my exhaust pipe, very
lucky not to have a fire. If your hoses haven't been replaced in the last
ten years, it is past time to do it. I cut the power steering belt off and
continued on. You can easily drive the GMC with no power steering at
highway speed and with just a little effort in city traffic.
