Power Steering Fluid

My power steering has Dextron ATF in it (red). Thought I read that
someone was against using ATF in the PS. Operating Manual states for
PS, Dextron AFT if PS fluid not available. Should I change it out?
Can PS fluid be mixed with ATF in the PS?

All the qualified experts at several conventions have adamantly stated
that "ATF MUST NOT be used in the power steering." ATF was at one time
used in some power steering pumps, but NEVER in the GMC. It is an
emergency measure only.
