I just read two posts that refer to a trend that two people see as
developing on this BB. I don't see a trend like that developing at all. I
see a lot of very friendly people sharing their expertise ( and sometimes
lack of it) with other interested people. It is this pooling of talent that
is so helpful. Sometimes a response that is humerous is needed. Why would
anyone get offended by some one saying get a SOB?

I know that two of the posts referrenced were mine, one referring to the
heater on the GMC and the other referencing the loss of an engine when an
oil line was severed. Many times during conversations with other GMC owners
when I have asked a how-to-do question, something that I could not figure
out, I have received the response "get a SOB"! I have never been offended
by that remark, as it was most assuredly given in jest. we all know that
these coaches need regular maintenance and some of it quite complicated.

My intention was not to humiliate anyone, or cause others to stop from
posting, or feel insecure. Sometimes a little humor or levity which ever the
case might be, is needed. If the general feeling is that I have posted a
response that is inappropriate than I take the rebuff as you intended it.

We all own coachs, which from the shear fact of being over 20 years old,
requires attention, regular maintenance and a little common sense to drive
with pleasure and hopefully not hurt someone else or ourselves. When I hear
of coach owners, losing certain functions on the coach for example a high
temperature on the water temp gauge, performing maintenance that is
incorrect (wheel bearings that are installed incorrectly) and still driving
the coach to the point of breakdown or disaster, than I have to ask the
question Why? Was it because they did not know what would happen, lacked the
understanding of cause and effect, what? It is not because I want to
humiliate any one but rather try and find the answer so they won't do the
same thing again, and anyone reading the post will understand the right
response to get if they experience something similar.

By making those two posts, that two separate people made, are we attempting
to make people self conscioius to the point that they will not post at all.
If someone is offended by anothers remarks isn't it better to inform the
poster by private e-mail instead of publicly? Just my own opinion.

In my humble opinion there are no posts referring to actual experiences with the
coach that are"stupid". I learn most by other's "stupid" actions and mistakes,
therefore those posts become real learning experiences for me. There are a lot
of things, however that could just as well be said by private email since they
do not involve anyathing but private inside talk. In so doing this fine network
of Patrick's would be a lot less cluttered with deletes.
Final note; I for one sure do like signatures with at least your home state.
