plug into GFI outlet

I'm expert level cable wrapper. We are using 30 year old homemade XLR mic cables in the band, I was stubborn to learn but did get it.

What I still need to do at home is plug the IOTA into an extension cord and into the GFI circuit (taking the GMC wiring completely out of the picture
and make sure it does the same thing as when the power goes through the GMC wiring/cables.

But I am happy this GFI is not buzzing or popping.

Emery, maybe because you are careful in the way you Uncoil it that you have been ok. If you pull with all the twists in it that is very bad. Take a
25' SO cord or air hose to practice. Another way to do it but inconvenient for the compartment, is to coil a figure 8 on the ground, then fold the 2
halves over to form one circle. There will be zero net twists when extended. There was an article by Wes years ago in the old news letter about
internally failed power cables. The worst case would be a broken neutral where one leg could go below 125V while the other leg goes proportional above
125V damaging equipment.
