The correct gap for the plug should be .060 for the stock HEI. The .080
gap is very hard on the stock Wires cap and rotor. Dick Patterson who
builds Springfield HEI systems for the GMC recommends the .060 gap for
his system. As for the Jacob's system you could go bigger, but I
wouldn't go over .080.
