Gang,
Just jacked coach as I'm getting ready to switch drums to discs (and, for
that reason, most anxious to hear report of TSM retrofit) and take bogies
off to do major derusting and repainting.

Removed rear airbag bolt (thru cone) and was SHOCKED to find that the
trailing cone had simply DISINTEGRATED, several of the pieces having fallen
to the ground. This coach has under 40K miles (original) and has been
parked for around 9 years! The cone was in one piece when I put her away
and the airbags were totally uninflated (due to normal system leakage) for
over a year.

My cones ARE (obviously) gray PLASTIC and carry the designation "NBD 8646"
embossed very near the perimeter of the small diameter (where the bag bolt
meets the bogie mounting pad). The embossing is -- if the cone is turned
the right way -- visible just outside the bogie mounting pad. There is
another designation embossed directly across the bolt hole "2T2B-15", but it
is closer to the hole and would difficult or impossible to read while mounted.

Alex Sirum has lots of cones for sale if anyone need them in a hurry or
for backup.
