pickup coil failure

With that number of miles I would check the wires on the pickup coil in the
distributer. . from all of the movement over the years they get frayed.
If they are bad I would replace the whole distributer with one from Dick
Paterson. He blue prints and sells them for the GMc at a very reasonable price.

P.S. .060" is to wide for the stock ignition. I run .045. with patersons
distributer you can run .060" if you use 8MM premium silicon wires.
