The wood frame in the back of our coach is in bad shape and I've decided to
move th water pump forward next to the fresh water tank. So, my current
plan is to eliminate existing water tank box and replace it with a boxed-in
center that spans the aisle area. I'll use 1/2" plywood to create a center
tunnel that is level with the two aluminum cases in the rear. Plywood over
the top will create a base on which I will build a boxed in structure for
the piano hinge and to fill in between the 48" plywood mattress base and
the rear wall. I plan to raise the perimeter up so that the top of the
mattress is level with the bottom of the windows. The mattress board wil be
1/2" plywood. Structural support for the mattress board will be provided by
storage area dividers.
SInce the rear bedding locker on my unit is damaged beyond easy repair, I
plan to finish off the curbside locker area so that I get an additional 10"
of mattress space. Since the mattress itself will be shorter than the newly
created area, I plan to fill the foot area with a foam padded additional
storage box.
Where did you tap 12V to power your light? How is the rolling storage box
locked in place for travel?
Thanks,
Henry
