Paul Bartz passed away

I remember Paul from the impromptu GMC rally held at a fellow GMCer's
restaurant sometime in May/June in 2001 in Michigan; Paul had driven there
in his car and lost his keys in someone's coach, so I loaned him my Suzuki
Sidekick to drive home that night and come back the next morning with a
spare set of keys. I had also bought one of the last remaining vacuum
pumps in the USA and delivered it to Paul at this mini rally. Arch, the
Admiral, was there as well Waters and about 10 other GMCers with coaches.
I also remember Paul given a demo on how to pull the front wheel bearing at
a GMCES rally in Bowling Green, KY, a few years later. I hadn't spoken or
seen Paul in the last 10+ years. May he rest in peace and my condolences
to his wife and family.

Thank you Gary and Ken H.

I already tried the number ending in 69. It is in Princeton and I left a voice mail. I will try the email address and cell you supplied.

Frank is one of the people hat I have not been able to contact about Paul's passing.

There is one EAA person that Paul and I we both know Manitoba that I finally caught up with him today. I also caught up with four other GMCers today
that do not regularly watch GMCnet.

If you know of anyone Paul's son or I might have missed, please pass the word to them.

I met Paul for a few hours at the "lunch" arranged by Matt Colie a week and a half ago.
Like everyone else there, Paul was very welcoming to me, a complete stranger.
Sad to hear of Paul's passing.
My condolences to Paul's wife and family

Ken,

It was Paul's passing that caused Frank to call me.

Thank you Ken.

I tried both email addresses that were supplied and the one at Canada.com failed after repeated attempts for 17 hours. I'll quit trying now that I
know that he knows about Paul.

Laurie and I went to the visitation this afternoon.
I talked to Paul Jr. at the visitation today and he did not know if they had informed Frank or not.

I was happy to see that they had Paul dressed in his Air Force uniform and his casket was covered with an American Flag. There were lots of people in
attendance during the 2 hours that we were there.

I will return for the funeral and internment at Ft. Custer tomorrow.

Brian,

I have no idea how you got this as an email. But I was responding to Ken H. and Gary Kosier's postings on the GMCnet Forum on my trying to find a
particular GMC owner.

I was chasing down people that knew Paul Bartz and notifying the that Paul died unexpectedly last Saturday. One of the people I was chasing and
finally found is a non-GMCnet member and mutual friend in Dulgard, MB (east of Winnipeg). Paul and I both know him through the EAA (Experimental
Aircraft Association.)

I'm sorry for the confusion.

Oh No!
I've been away from the net for a week or so and came back to learn of this very sad occurrence. I've known Paul for years. He was one of the first
GMC people I met about 18 years ago. We used to talk on the phone for hours (via Skype) very late at night discussing our fuel injection installs and
other matters. I lost track of him a few years ago and had planned on calling him this fall to catch up.

We traveled together back to Michigan from several GMC rallies (2 in Iowa) and that Eastern States rally in Bowling Green. I remember very well
following Paul and Bobby Moore back to Louisville from Bowling Green in the rain where we all parked at Bobby's house for the night. I spent that
night under Bobby's car port. The next day, we all went to breakfast and later we jacked up Bobby's coach and Paul gave me guided tour (both of us on
creepers) of the underside of Bobby's coach (which is apparently now in Australia) showing me all the unique features. Now they are both gone.

It was my GMC that tried to eat Paul's keys that night at Gilbert's Steak House. They apparently fell out of Paul's pants while he was in my coach
testing an ignition module. I discovered them under my couch the day I got home after I had heard about Paul having to borrow a car to get back to his
house. Paul's son came by to my house a day later and picked the keys up to get them back to Paul.

I will miss him!

On the way home from EAA Oshkosh last year, Paul mentioned that we were passing near your home. So he had not forgotten his visit to you in a
previous year.
