Hi all,

Does anyone have any idea what the paint color or code for my coach might be? First--I have no sticker in my glove box or compartment, so I've
checked. I've also checked on the internet and elsewhere with the codes. I ordered two possible colors that I thought MIGHT come close that were
listed as possible matches: Caramel Beige and Buckskin. The former was way too light and beige, and the latter is close but not brown or dark
enough. It's a 1977 Eleganza II, but I'm beginning to wonder if they painted it a non-standard color.

My next choice may be to go to an auto body shop with a paint chip, but since I have seen pictures of coaches of a similar color, I thought maybe some
one could point me in the right direction.

Thanks!

I don't believe your paint is factory. Please, what is the VIN?
Also, check your Facebook Private Messages, PMs.

Brian,

Find an automotive paint store in your area and ask if they have a paint color analyzer; if they do drive the GMC there.

They should be able to tell you what the color is and determine the mix. They may also be able analyzer the stripes.

Thanks everyone, as usual, for the advice and help via the forum (and email). So it looks like my next stop will be looking for auto body paint
suppliers in the rainy northwest! I have a few 1" chips that have flaked off so maybe I can start there.

Bill I did check. Thanks.

If you have chips that have flaked off then it definitely isn’t the original. The original pant was Imron, a polyurethane paint that won’t flake.

A long way from original paint...

Do what Rob said. If they have paint analyzers in Antigonish, NS, you can
be sure they have one where you live. Get the smallest amount available and
take it home to test on an inconspicuous location for a colour match.

Life is too short to hold a grudge; slash some tires and call it even !

Take the fuel door off and take to a paint shop or auto parts store. My local Autovalue, does paint analysis and made up several cans for me.

Come to think of it my small town NAPA said they have that equipment, though I have not tried the service

Thanks again for the comments.

Dan, thanks for that as well. That SW is only about 2 miles from me, so that's great!
