If they will determine ur excise tax (as in OKlahoma) and how much it costs to register it.. I would go either with the amount shown on the title, or what you payed for it..

Yep, We did it, and it is a 78 Royale. Most of the GMC coaches
sold back then retailed for around $34,000. A friend said the Royale
retailed for $55,000. Any body on the net know the true retail price
for the transmode Royale rear bath for the 1978 model year? I need this
info to assist in the state vehicle registration process.
Any body know the address or phone for Caspro Engines?
Yes Dave, I will register with the GMC MOTORHOME REGISTERY
when I get around to it as I have the complete ownership history and
all the maintenance records from initial sale except for a small gap.
Meanwhile, I am having too much fun playing with my new toy.
IE, maintenance and planing improvements.
Regards to all, DAC - 78 Royale

Hi DAC,

I don't have an orginal invoice for a 1978 Royale but the $55k price you
were quoted may not be too far off. In 78 GM was loading every coach out
of the factory with as many accessories as they could in order to empty
the bins. They most likely made a deal with Coachmen and other upfitters
to take some of that inventory also.

The Royales were always a bit more expensive as I recall, even the NADA
used RV book shows a slightly higher retail but I suspect this is based
on the cost new.

I look forward to recv'g your input for the Registry. Enjoy!

I went out and looked at the paper work that I received from the PO and
they paid $29824 in June of 1984 for the coach. I have a 77 Eleganza II
with all the options and I would think that the off the lot price was
close to $38500.
