Alright guys, so the synthetic oils could cause a problem.

IS there a problem just staying with the oem suggested oils?

If I could still get Slick50 I'd put a quart of that in there
since I had good results with my car engines.

No problem staying with straight 30 except most of what is available today is non or low detergent. So a good detergent 10W30 or in my case a very
high detergent 15W40 is what I would go after and forget the synthetic stuff. I can not imagine what you expect to gain using synthetic oil in an air
cooled engine.
