Onan

Need a little help here. Can start Onan but it will not keep running after
about 5 to 10 seconds.
Don't have a Onan book so am not sure where everything is located.
Can't even find th #%&#* gas filter.
Where do we look first. Please step by step.

Hi Marlene,
The filter is on the bottom of the electric fuel pump below and back of
carb. on left side of drawer. There's also a solenoid fuel shutoff switch on
fuel out side of pump on line to carb. IIRC if all years/types are the same.
Don't know all the tech. parts but I would remove fuel line at carb. and try
and start onan and see if you have good fuel flow, after cleaning
filter/strainer, and checking fuel line to tank. If you have environmental
laws there guess you could use a container to use with the job. Maybe
thats all of your problems. Hope this helps.

Got the problem figured out , dirty filter.
At the same time discovered loose wire from start switch to board. Sometime
would work next time it wouldn't.
Killed 2 birds with one stone. Now have to go make 2 Raspberry Pies to take
to a picnic tomorrow.

If I remember correctly, the guy who installed Heinz's new Generac didn't
use that term for the Onan.
He called it a "Wh-re in a drawer! Sometimes it applies, sometimes it
doesn't.

Larry,
Hienz had his converted to a Generac by Advanced RV here in San Diego.
Only the Onan needs to slide in and out. The others are stationary. It
makes quieting them easier as you can mount the exhaust pipe wherever you
wish.
