Now that the other Onan is in. Starts great from the switch on the engine panel. But no spark from the inside panel. Did I get wires turned around? I have met the enemy. And he is me?

Could be a connection not making good contact. Or the numbers on the remote panel are misleading. I had to use my handy meter to figure it out because
the labels/numbers on the panel were wrong for the switch contacts.

This post may or may not help. It is long, you can probably skip to the last paragraph:

Bob,
The remote switch is just connected in parallel with the switch on the Onan panel. The center terminal of the switch is Ground. The switch simply
grounds the start wire or stop wire. The fourth wire provides power when running to the switch light and engine hour meter.

Power for the ignition coil, fuel pump etc are provided through relay contacts on the board.

There are wiring diagrams including one by Ken Henderson at the end of this Onan manual PDF

Yes this makes NO sense as it is s very simple system, unless somehow you are grounding Start and Stop st the same time is all I can think of

The 4 colored wires that come from the inside panel are white, red, green, and blue. The Onan white wires are numbered 1, 2, 3, and 6. One of the white wires goes to the starter, and coil. It sounds like the Royales aren't the same as GM built GMC's.

Bob,
I'm in Mexico and the coach is in bed back in the Great White North so I only have the Onan Service manual from Billy's USB stick.

From the manual, the board wires are:
1 - Ground (goes to center pin of remote switch)
2 - Stop (goes to pin above center pin of remote switch, should be top left pin when looking from back of switch)
3 - Start (goes to pin below center pin of remote switch, should be bottom left pin when looking from back)

6 - Supplies 12 volts when generator is running for switch light and Hobbs hour meter. (Goes to top right contact on remote switch)

If it were me, I would figure out which one is ground. Then grounding any remaining wire will let you find the Start wire (with a volt meter it
should be the only wire with 12 volts when the engine is not running. Grounding the start wire closes a relay on the Onan board)

Once the generator is running the two remaining wires will both show close to 12 volts. One should be a lower voltage than the other wire. Using your
Test Light and touch it to the wire with the lower voltage and the engine should stop. If not, touch your Test Light to the last remaining wire.
Loading one of these two remaining wires to ground with your test light will cause a relay on the Onan board to drop out and stop the engine, the
other wire will be the Run light.

Hope this helps
