To all: Finally worked on Onan remote start problem. Checked connector at
rear of Onan compartment as was mentioned, found broken wire and corroded
terminal. Repaired and running perfectly.
Thanks for all suggestions.

My generator has been down several times due to corrosion of various
terminals and connectors. Since I was a kid I've always kept a jar of
vaseline in the shop. Whenever I do electrical work I apply it to connectors
or any other exposed copper as I assemble things. It seems to work wonders
on minimizing future problems.

I keep thinking that there may be a commercial product which would be nicer
to use but the vaseline works well enough that I've never bothered to look
for something better. It's greasiness is it's only drawback that I know of.

There is a commercial product that eliminates the oxidation and corrosion of
terminals, plugs and electrical connections. I have a tube in my shop and
when I go there later today will get the name and mfr. It works!
