I'm having a great deal of difficulty getting a replacement starter for my 4K ONAN
generator. The part number is 191-0915. Sirum's doesn't have one and neither does
Golby's. Evidently the factory is out of stock also although my local Cummins/Onan
dealere can't get a response from them on the status of my order placed on June 19.

Any ideas on what I might try next???

Thanks for the info.

have you taken it to a starter shop to have it rebuilt?

Your in luck with your starter.

There is a company in my town that will help you out. He rebuilds all
makes and models of starters, generators and alternator's. He said he may
have one on the shelf that you can purchase. You will need the make and
model of the generator or the part number of the starter to confirm that
they have one in stock. If not he will rebuild yours. Name of the company
is:

AUTOMOTIVE ELECTRIC
202 Co. Road 492,
Negaunee, MI 49866

Phone Number: 906-475-7772

There is another company in Marquette, MI that are an authorized repair
facility for many makes of AC generators and motors. They told me they can
rebuild just about any AC generator or motor (no starters). When I was in
business I used them many times with excellent results. Company name is:

SUPERIOR ELECTRIC MOTOR SALES & SERVICE
1740 Presque Isle
Marquette, MI 49855

Phone NO. 906-226-9051

Give them a call

Ralph,
Is the 4K starter rebuildable? I've got a company here that has worked
magic on stuff like that. Maybe someone around you could do the job, if
not I'll get it done for you.
